Privacy Policy
This policy explains how A Warrior’s Journey collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the iPhone app, website, and connected dojo or community features.
Information stored on your device
Your training journal, technique progress, goals, notes, selected photos or videos, preferences, and other personal practice records may be stored locally in the app’s private storage. Apple device backups may include this information according to your iCloud and device settings.
Information used by connected features
If you sign in or use Connected Dojo or community features, we may process your account identifier, Sign in with Apple email or private relay address, display name, rank, dojo membership, attendance, curriculum progress, rank verification records, announcements, chat messages, reports, and moderation records.
You may optionally provide a profile photo, approximate city or region, training interests, availability, email, phone number, or social profile links. You choose whether supported fields remain private, are shared with members of your dojo, or appear in the wider community. The app does not request continuous or precise location access.
Photos, certificates, and attachments
The app accesses photos only when you choose items through Apple’s system photo picker. Rank certificates remain associated with the selected rank. Certificates are not included in the public community profile. Dojo header images and profile images may be uploaded when you explicitly choose to use connected sharing features.
How information is used
- Provide accounts, synchronization, dojo membership, curriculum, attendance, chat, announcements, rank verification, and community discovery.
- Apply your visibility choices and show shared information to the audience you select.
- Prevent spam, enforce Community Standards, investigate reports, and protect users.
- Operate, troubleshoot, secure, and improve the service.
- Send notifications you enable for dojo activity, events, chat, news, or other supported categories.
Service providers
Connected data is processed using Supabase for authentication, database, and related cloud services, and Apple for Sign in with Apple, notifications, purchases, device services, and App Store distribution. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy commitments.
External sources and links
The app may provide ordinary links to public websites, stores, articles, videos, YouTube channels, and event pages. These links open the original source; the app does not host or copy the linked video. The destination’s privacy policy applies after you leave the app.
Sharing and sale of information
We share information with other users only through the dojo and community features you use and according to your selected visibility settings. We do not sell personal information or use it for third-party behavioral advertising. We may disclose information when legally required or when necessary to protect users, the service, or others.
Retention and deletion
Local records remain until you delete them or remove the app, subject to device backups. Connected records remain while your account is active and as needed for security, dispute resolution, or legal obligations. You can delete your connected account in the app from Profile → Connected Account → Delete Account. Account deletion removes or anonymizes connected personal data as appropriate. Leaving a dojo does not delete your personal training accomplishments.
Security
We use access controls, row-level database security, authentication, moderation tools, blocking, reporting, and rate limits. No storage or transmission method is completely secure.
Children
The service is not directed to children under 13. Users under the age of legal majority should use community and dojo features only with a parent or guardian’s permission and appropriate dojo supervision.
Your choices and rights
You can change profile visibility, disable discovery, leave a dojo, block members, manage notifications, or delete your account. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, export, restrict, or delete personal information.
